Verification of On-Site Testing Devices

Under appendix B of the AS/NZS 4308:2008 standard, all on-site urine drug testing devices need to meet minimum accuracy standards. Verification requires the on-site device to be calibrated against a mass spectrometry based test, performed by a laboratory certified to meet  the AS/NZS 4308:2008 testing standard. The laboratory also needs to have AS ISO/IEC 17025 or AS 4633 accreditation.

Racing Analytical Services Ltd (RASL) can provide a comprehensive on-site device verification service. The verification testing ensures that the device is detecting urine drug levels between -30% and + 25% of the assigned cut-off concentrations.

While the AS/NZS 4760:2006 oral fluid testing standard does not require verification of on-site testing devices, it is highly recommended that all devices are tested to ensure that they are operating within expected limits. RASL also provides a  verification service for on-site oral fluid testing devices.
